One of the Cary Park District’s earlier parks, Greenfields 6.10 acres was acquired in 1977 by agreement with the Village of Cary. The playground, renovated summer 2008, has more to offer all 2-5 and 5-12 age groups. The tree fort themed playground is appropriately set among mature trees with several benches to offer a respite for children and adults. Improved landscape additions of shade trees and more greenery including flowering perennials (Black Eyed Susan, Prairie Dropseed, and Moon Beam Coreopsis) enhance this cherished older park setting. Greenfields Pond is nestled at the back of the park and connects to adjacent Cary Oaks Park and is stocked with largemouth bass, bluegill, catfish,, yellow perch, crappie, and sunfish.
