Making and eating ice cream is a fun way to introduce early physics and chemistry teachings to children. Kids can become an expert on this beloved treat and billion-dollar business as we make a batch of homemade ice cream in a bag. Also, explore the science of the amusement park treat, Dippin’ Dots and the first novelty ice cream treat on a stick. Then sit down for the most outrageous ice cream eating contest in town. Who will be crowned King or Queen? This is a child’s dream class that puts the fun back into learning and building self-esteem. This class explores both chemical and industrial engineering concepts, along with how this treat evolved. This class will be sticky, please dress accordingly. A themed souvenir is included. This is a co-op program with Crystal Lake Park District and the Lake in the Hills Recreation Department. This program is held at Woodscreek, 1420 Willow Tree Drive in Crystal Lake.
