West Side Story at the Fireside (Co-Op)
From the first notes to the final breath, “West Side Story” is a theatrical event not to be missed. Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet is transported to modern-day New York City as two young lovers find themselves caught between warring street gangs. Their struggle to survive in a world of hate, violence, and prejudice is one of the most innovative, heart-wrenching, and relevant musical dramas of our time. Broadway legends Arthur Laurents, Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim, and Jerome Robbins created a show that is both ageless and as fresh as tomorrow’s headlines. Before the show, enjoy a lunch featuring pork tenderloin, coconut chicken, halibut, or vegetarian stuffed peppers. Complete your meal with cherry crisp dessert, accompanied by coffee, tea, and milk. Purchase additional beverages on your own. Transportation is by Park District bus. Moderate walking involved with this trip. Registration deadline is February 6 and refunds will not be issued after the deadline.
